Dr. Dena Swanson

Dr. Dena Swanson has been a faculty member in Counseling and Human Development at the University of Rochester since 2005. With experience as a counselor and researcher, her work examines identity development among ethnic minority youth and experiences of stress that contribute to academic and behavioral problems. As a graduate of LCCP Cohort V, she enhanced her consultations with local and national organizations to support leaders focused on creating and sustaining vision-centered, culturally appropriate practices. She recently became co-chair of the Capacity Development and Racial Equity Committee for Rochester’s Facing Race=Embracing Equity (FR=EE) Initiative.
